standing lateral split »

A lateral split done while standing on one leg to perform the standing splits and what determines if it's a right split or left split is the leg they've chosen to put in the air| The EASIEST way(which is NOT foolproof)to tell this from a standing medial split is if the raised leg DOES cover the corresponding side of their frontal area but even easier(and closer TO being foolproof)is if the back of the raised leg is turned the exact same direction as the front of the gymnast-athlete's entire body and is usually inside & rarely ever outside their arms|
