Still, I get what you mean. The only way anyone should play fighter games is with a stick controller. If you don't, you're an idiot.
The only beat em up I mastered was super street fighter 2 on the snes. and that had no sticks. I'm better with a d-pad and the d-pad on my pad is just bad.
So wait, this was made by the same people who made skullgirls is what you're saying?
Let's hope they improve on this one. Otherwise it will not be worth the funding.
Understandable. Although, you should know that Indivisible is an entirely different genre than Skullgirls.
I'm curious though, what is it about Skullgirls that you don't like? I can assume that you're familiar with fighter games, so this should be a neat discussion to have.
I know this is late but damn, that music was epic indeed. Weird, I didn't think Lab Zero was still making games. I play the hell out of Skullgirls back on PS3, I need to back this new one up, that music got me hype.

Well, the controls were controller-only, so I had to poke lots of different keys in order to find out how to even get through the menu - CTRL means "enter" as an example. The game still told me to press START.
I managed to change the first player's keybindings, but not the second one's. That already was too much shit for one menu.
And well, the story is basically inexistent, but hey, it's a fighting game after all.
But then the fights turned out to be quite boring - in all seriousness, I had more fun with Little Fighters 2.
I tried button combinations for half an hour and didn't get any further than using three or four different attacks. The AI enemies seemed to be such as bad though, they only used four different attacks each. So much for variety of attacks.
So, as I concluded in my review - what's this got besides nice animations, awesome boobs, legs, asses and Peacock?
4/10 would avoid penis-contact with this game.
I can agree with most of your points other than the controllers part. It should be a long while since either of us has played Skullgirls, and I had a similar problem with the menu myself; but at this point, it should've changed. Right?
You played for half an hour. I'd like to say that you did not spend enough time with the game only to get through the simple basics of the game. There are way more than just four simple moves, and the combinations are varied between distances to allow for higher combos. That's the entire point of the game, which is the combos. I would highly suggest playing it again and giving it another shot. It's fun with friends but online play is absolutely atrocious because most of the players are very skilled in the game making it harder for newer players to get the hang of the game and apply combos to actual players.
My thoughts on combat is that it relies on who can get their combos out first, making most of the game either a one-two punch game or waiting for the right opportunity. It's as simple as that, but most fighting games rely mostly on combos; however, Skullgirls allow you to break out of those combos unlike other fighting games which is nice.
And lastly, Little Fighters 2 and Skullgirls are completely different genres despite both being fighter games. It's not your kind of game and I can understand that, but I would like to mention that you should at least give it more time if you want to give a full-fledged review.
It should. But who am I to talk about things I do not know about but can only guess? When I played it the menu was really bad.
It's right that I did not play it long enough, but I didn't want to, and then suddenly the free weekend was over. But in Little Fighters 2 for example I remember getting more than 4 combos in half an hour. Or in MUGEN. Or in Tales of ACS. Especially in Tales of ACS the combo-system seemed to make more sense to me.
"however, Skullgirls allow you to break out of those combos unlike other fighting games which is nice."
Just give me an example of a fighting game in which there is no combo break (besides Little Fighters 2, that doesn't count).
So, I didn't give it a full-fledged review, but I just didn't like it after half an hour. And now I wouldn't mind trying it again, but I don't want to give my money to those guys so they can make more bouncing breasts and asses and swastikas on a girl's back.
(Besides, what genre is Little Fighters 2 then? To someone who doesn't really like beat-em-up-games in general it's hard to tell apart the differences between sub-genres.)
