Doppel-chan should get more attention.

Have not been keeping up with this, what species is she?

I mean, I could guess, but I've genuinely lost emphasis with the show itself because it's progression is near akin to To Love Aru...

She's a Doppelgänger, as the name already suggests.
Even though this serie is censored thus far, i really enjoyed it and stayed for the humor.
And for Papi

Well, as far as I've personally thought, a Doppelganger who's unafraid to use their original appearance is a waste of good lore...

Well, every once in a while good lore needs to be broken, but I can't say based on this chara--haven't observed them.

Mayhaps you can inform me?

Well the lore of most chars are kept good, though you will occasionally see the lore being broken for some.

That being said. I'm not really a lore whore myself, so i can see past that.
I might also add, this series usually has some quick excuse ready to explain why some things are or happen.

Just don't take this series too serious, you'll only ruin the fun for yourself.

Also Monster Musume should have a 2nd season.

It might be worth noting that in her manga reference sheet, Doppel is said to have a "strange sense of crawling chaos about her," and in the anime species dossier she's affiliated with a "faceless god" who appears to be depicted behind her as the spitting image of the Lovecraft Mithos' Nyarlathotep.

It could be said then, that the reason her abilities are so drastically different from the other monster girls (who more or less stick sooorrt of within the realm of physical possibility) because she operates on laws of physics unknowable to mortal beings. She's likely not even a liminal (monster girl) in light of that, and mankind probably just classified her as such because they have no idea how else to make sense of what she really is... Or at the very least, nobody has ever observed them in their natural state. ;3

Thank you, Jakie.

Galinoa, I don't really think "lore whore" applies until a person constantly rides the subject when it arises.

Then again, I love monster lore specifically because in most cases it is outright wrong or simply skewed from the human perspective...

Yeah~ fictional biologies are one of my favoritest things in the whole wide universe! They're right behind boobs, but way way way ahead of basic human necessities like eating or sleeping!!

By and large, the lore behind Monster Musume is preeetttyyy slighting so it doesn't do much to satiate my eternal hunger by volume, BUT BUT what it does have is kinda refreshing in that it's mostly socially focused! Which should make sense, because it's primarily focused on the relationships between humans and non-humans. This has been a growing tend in fiction for a while, of course... but it is at least special in that it focuses so blatantly upon it and never seems to dwell for a second on... well, really anything else at all! (Besides titties.) It certainly could be better --even in the confines of its limited specialties-- but what it does have is still enough to earn my adoration and respect.
