I was wondering. Since nude filters made over screen captures are still considered screen captures, why isn't it the same for nude filters made over official art? I can understand if that's really the way it's supposed to be, but I don't get why.

Because it's not official.

That's the first thing. The second thing, the term "screen capture" also means the quality is at "capture" level, which is not as good as digital works.

I know it's not official, but my point is that it's made over official art. xD

I honestly don't know what you mean with that.

In that case, would it be alright if I started adding the the official_art tag to screen captures which are official and unedited?

(I'm not counting stitched images as edited in this case, BTW)

Stitched Images are technically edited because while the resolution has increased, it's still an upscale.

About the official_art tag, I believe we're reaching a conundrum. I would personally say yes to using screen_capture as a stand in until a scanned post was uploaded to replace it. I don't know if scanned is a tag, but it should be. It's the only way how these official artworks with extremely high native resolutions make it onto the internet.

^There's the scan tag, if that's what you mean.

But right now I'm talking about screen captures taken from scenes of animes, games, etc.
My idea is that unedited screencaps and stitched ones or ones with alternative colors (like black_and_white or brighter colors) but otherwise unedited would count as official_art, while screencaps edited to remove (or change) the character's clothes or to change them into another character wouldn't.

I also think we should use the official_art tag to tell official material from fan material, because I'm 100% sure animated gifs made from the fan animations of people such as mike_inel and zone count as screen_capture just as much as images taken straight from an anime using Print Screen (that makes me wonder about Mike's straight-to-gif animations, though).
