Hikari is the female player character of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Her male counterpart is Kouki.

In the anime Hikari is a ten-year-old Pokémon Coordinator and a former traveling companion of Satoshi and Takeshi. Her goal is to become a great Top Coordinator like her mother, Ayako. Her first Pokémon was a Piplup that she received from Dr. Nanakamado.
