Can you delete the mega_garchomp -> mega_pokemon tag alias? It was supposed to be an implication, but I accidentally submited it as a tag alias.

System, would you be ok with aliasing all the “alternate_*” into “alternative_*”? I really hate that stupid Americanism, that’s not what alternate means.

Examples: alternate_costume, alternate_hairstyle, alternate_color etc.

The meaning “alternative” is purely American.

Not sure if it will cause a cascade of alias and implication issues but approved, just add or leave any instructions.

I saw System fixed one of my tag aliases. I accidentally tried to alias shinsengumi_(gintama) to was shinsengumi_(gin_tama), when what I meant to do was the other way around. I also had a similar accident with the tags bishoujo_senshi_sailor_moon_crystal and sailor_moon_crystal, I wanted to alias the latter to the former but accidentally did it the other way around.

I also wanted to undo a tag alias I created (alibaba_saluja -> ali_baba_saluja) and redo it the other way around.

I cleaned the tag nozarashi up using the tag scrip when I realized it was actually an artist's alias sooner today, and started using it instead of the tag nozarashi_(bleach), which I created long ago, so I wanted to alias the tag nozarashi_(bleach) to the tag nozarashi.

Removed nozarashi and sailor moon for you.

We have introduced some preliminary changes to allow alias approval by senior users. This sort of thing highlights the reason why the approvals are so restricted, but I think perhaps allowing users to remove aliases which are still pending or pending and submitted by themselves could be less sensitive.

If white_background is a simple_background it suggests all coloured_backgrounds are simple too. Is this really the case?

That artist name alias was generated algorithmically (a database query detected the relatedness) as a time saver so it doesn't really form a precedent or follow any manual rules.

That’s not the case. Other colors can be shaded, white is just white… simple. With shading you can create intricate figures while still keeping the same overall color, so that can count as a red_background while not being simple, but with white_background you can’t do that.

Also white is by default the standard background color for a blank canvas.

These are weak examples, but I think there may be examples of predominately white backgrounds which have complex patterns and shading.

The funny thing is Post #3686479 is tagged as simple background.

You may have a point with your other example, although that shading can still be considered simple (as is already tagged). Don’t know about that.

There are thousands and thousands of white_background results that should be tagged simple_background though.

Also, could you remove this tag alias? After creating it, I discovered that character's name is affected by Western and Eastern name order, so inside the side that character's tag should be called Hoshi_Akane
