Lol, no. Except maybe if you contact System and make him do a rollback. All changes are saved in your tag changes history, so you could always go there and add it back to every post you removed it from.I don’t think you understood what he said. He already removed the claudette tag, so he’s not gonna find any posts in it.

Yep, I fixed my mistake. Sorry for the confusion. :P
What bothers me the most is that even without my mistake there are a lot of posts where characters are untagged. I found a lot while trying to fix my mistake.
Can you stop user Ragnarok https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/user/show/49228 from vandalizing posts?
He keeps removing screen_capture and animated from my posts.
Edit he is also doing it to other peoples posts.
and my reason for removing it is that a video/webm is not a screen capture

Can you explain to everyone how webm and mp4 are not animated?
Also mods put screen capture on animated posts. So you know how this site works better then them or something?
I use the description of the animated tag as reference ( animated gif, flash and animated png )

fixed. now stop deleting tags.
https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/wiki/show?title=animated
https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/wiki/show?title=screen_capture
I understand my mistake in what refers to the animated tag.
but a screen capture is a still image not a video/webm
Original tag description: A programmatically captured image of a computer's screen, also called a screenshot and a screencap. A standard feature in many computer operating systems and media players. Often used to capture still images from video games and video files.
and your version: This tag indicates that the post is a still image or an animated sequence (usually gif or webm), extracted from an anime. In general, it does not apply to caps from eroge or game cg.
better admins or moderators decide this
Talking about webms and screen captures, I believe webms and other videos extracted from anime should be considered screen captures, because otherwise it's a fucking mess.

if that's a problem you can create a new tag to differentiate them
I contacted System, hopefully we’ll get an answer from above. My personal opinion is that screen_capture should apply to videos as well. The wording itself “screen capture” doesn’t imply a single image at all, so restricting it to single images and not videos doesn’t have a basis going by the naming of the tag.
I’ve edited the animated wiki to remove automatic_tags. There’s no need to say “use webm” when webm is already automatically added by the site.
I agree with ALAKTORN.
As far back as I can remember (mind you I don't mean on this site specifically but my time on the internet in general) screen_capture was a term that specifically meant still images from video or web pages. Doesn't really feel like it should apply to video unless it's from a game or something and even then I think a new tag for them like 'video_screen_capture' would be more appropriate than lumping them in with what is traditionally a still image
I agree with TUCKY.
I agree with Tucky as well.
My main question would be "What would we have to do to change this?" i.e. Time, scripts, etc.
@Tucky & friends: So if you wanted to just look at anime images, you’d have to do a search for both “video_screen_capture” and “screen_capture”? I don’t know how I feel about that. I think a search with “screen_capture -animated” for people who want still images makes a lot more sense.

Pretty much yeah. While they are both captured images of a video they aren't really the same thing and a person shouldn't expect to get both when searching for one.
A traditional screen capture (A.K.A. screen cap, screen grab, screenshot, etc.) is a single frame grabbed out of a video with a press of a button while a video version is either a frame by frame repeat of the original process then compiled together into an animated gif (I doubt many do it this way anymore as its a pain in the ass) or captured by a screen recording program with the produce usually called a screen recording.
This bring another question to my mind, how many actual video screen captures of anime videos really exist? It's been a long time since I dabbled in such things (before I found this site) but it is not the way making gifs clips from videos used to be done. The common way used to be to download the video, extract a clip, then covert it to a .gif with a program. If the older process is still used as well as recording clips with a screen recorder program how do you tell the difference? It's easy enough to tell when the source is a game but from a video source I expect there isn't a lot of visual difference between the two but they are different processes and calling the conversion screen captures doesn't sit right with me even after setting aside the fact that a traditional screen capture is a still image. I'm not sure what process is commonly used to make webms but I would expect conversions happen often enough to be an issue with them as well.
Instead of putting screen_capture or even video_screen_capture on animated images it would make more sense to me to introduce a 'sourced_from_video' tag or something worded better but conveying the same though. This could be applied to both still and animated images without redefining an old term or mislabeling animations that weren't made through screen capturing.
Sorry to make this more complicated, but wouldn't a short section of a video be called a "video clip"?
I have a question. My Post #4769189 is considered a duplicate of its parent Post #4539871, but the reason why I uploaded it (even if it sounds weird) was because said parent post is so big it actually crashes the page if I try to open fullsize (to be exact, any tab with SC open crashes, even if I open it as a direct link). In that case, is it alright for both posts to exist?
Also, I deleted my Post #4739662 because the parent #4236100 already existed, but since Post #4673632 also exists, I don't know if that was even necessary, or if I should delete Post #4673632 too.

Wouldn't the new one be a legitimate_variation because of the color and texture differences? I've seen many marked as such with far less difference in the colors.
Fist issue: Coloring and slight differences count as legitimate_variation.
Second issue: The lower resolution Pixiv one also has slight compression artifacts, so I’d say the bigger resolution one should be kept and the other deleted.
Edit: Oh by the way I thought of one thing about videos, slideshows would count as “videos” but I would not count them as “animated”, because they’re videos of still images. So I think there’s merit in adding “animated” to “video” posts. Maybe.
Was there ever an official response from System about screen_capture?

I guess it makes sense. The pixiv source comes from my post, BTW. I uploaded it via direct link.

I guess you have a point. It makes it more confusing for me, tho. :P

“screen_capture, as I understand it, indicates stills captured from videos (games would be screen shot?). So a video is not a screen capture.”
I made him notice that screenshot is aliased to screen_capture but then he didn’t reply.

Are posts like Post #4360857 really necessary? Quality posts are approved sooner.

I agree with the deletion, is really low quality.
post https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/post/show/4847721 was delete for not having high art style? can somebody approve it

I can fix any tagging mistakes, though.

Withholding insults to the artists drawing skills, the post is of very poor quality. In addition, it literally has no tags or source, which normally aren't grounds for deletion, but do affect posts getting approved.

I might get around to it. Too late tonight. If anyone is going to do it in the next day and wants to be super cool they can get this guy as well http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?id=15467038
