I'm telling you that your edit made this drawing worse than what it was. Accept it.

I'll accept that when you accept that what's better & worse is subjective! The only edits I made were inserting tha backdrop+modding her top+a more fitting smile that has CHEESE written all over it; I didn't go anywhere near the parts everyone is bellyaching about!

Maybe you had your hands over your eyes or it was downvoted into invisibility(I bleeding hate that/why is that a thing)by then but I did accept the genuine criticism that finally came my way which was preceded by a peanut-gallery that came along solely to express raw contempt with no explanation why...which is not criticism! They sound more interested in gettin their jollies off than genuine art which...I don't mind but they should at least be upfront about it instead of just going "Eeeewwwwwww" all tha live-long day!

I'm not MAD or ANGRY but just going through a jarring shift wherein my craft was readily accepted or NOT - to a place where people don't like it so they word their dislike as either objectively factual truth or as if it's actually hurting them...ah screw it THAT DOES PISS ME OFF when people talk like their opinion is the only "truth" there is to any given thing especially with no REAL reason given why and not just with my works but in general!

I'm actually far more reasonable than you seem 2 think: I don't require anyone "kneel before me" or "praise my name to tha High Heavens" or "never ever point out where/when I do(objectively or subjectively)wrong" or "to pull that stick out of my rectum, take a niiice biiig whiff, proceed to put it back where they got it from and tell me that my @#$%& isn't just as smelly as everyone else in tha planet" like at all ever really!
IN OTHER WORDS
If they had just said something like "I don't like this" or even "I think this looks terrible" then this wouldn't be a thing we're doing right now!

Keir Tanaka, there's this thing called TL;DR.

You're just lazy, lol! Seriously I never asked for your "help" so I extended you a line to understand me! That's what happens when you semi-imply that I don't know how to judge games for myself thinking I haven't used this method before or thought it out! You also didn't address my statement correctly either because I also included that I know "a great cover =/= a great game" just like "great graphics =/= great gameplay" but gamers still emphasize graphics before everything else!
ALSO
All of those multitude of things you list as a possible definition for verbatim are also synonymous with each other!

"a character of interest being soiled by a negro, and enjoying it"

You're not wrong which is why I never said you did say that was a bad thing but just that it comes off that way when you make special mention of their race on a list of what's perceived as reasons why you don't like the material as is! What I now know you were doing was defining what exactly a cuckold is as a fetish and was merely waiting for you to say that was all you were doing! I'm happy this has all been resolved as..about as peacefully as can be expected!

A small thing I just remembered from tha days before trailers had games - I mean, well..you know: When tha newest Disney hotness at tha time Aladdin was adapted into video game form for the 2 hottest platforms at tha time(the Mega Drive & Famicom Systems)they decided to make 2 different games with similar cover art that isn't tha movie's cover art!

The Mega Drive Aladdin turned out to be considered tha better game by most(totally subjective not objective)because of it's focus more on traditional action & platforming(it's also more in line with what tha movie delivered)whereas the Famicom saw a game with a lesser focus on action & such(I can't really say much since I never played it but 1 thing I can say 4 sure)not to mention http://lparchive.org/Aladdin/Images/1-Aladdin.jpg he has a sword on tha cover but not in tha game on Famicom!

I mention this because a trailer would've actually helped then but games weren't taken as seriously yet so accurate cover art would've done better since demos also weren't tha norm as well!

Well when I mentioned Ico & Shadow of the Colossus what I was referring to is "the small character set in the scope of an enormous challenge" type deal that I've gathered from trailers for those games as well! I never said trailers were useless but(much like movie trailers)they can be used to manipulate your expectations but I'd just as soon play a demo of tha game if the IP or company share holder has proven unreliable in tha past! Another thing trailers don't show is if tha game has a "hold your hand" tutorial throughout that constantly interrupts the action scenes until you do what it tells you to(see Remember Me)or a game where the tutorial can't be turned off on alt playthroughs(see KotOR)of tha same game or 1 of those games that slowly(or how slowly/long 4 that matter)build tha world & characters(see The Last of Us....not that these are bad games)before we get to any real gameplay!

Sure this poster is very similar(AN EXACT COPY, lol)to the cover arts I mentioned directly but nevertheless the aesthetics & design on tha cover lead me to believe tha game itself will deliver on tha world that the cover is representing which could well be similar to those previous IPs!
It also "feels" like it's selling "a small character set in the scope of an enormous challenge" story and as enjoyable as God(s) of War & Evil Resident(s) is...I'd like to play a character that actually feels like they could be crushed by tha meer weight of tha challenge before em but endures nonetheless and isn't trying to be survival horror!

I would also almost rather go into a game without a trailer because then(having seen a trailer)I would have an expectation that the game could NOT deliver on that I may have falsely lead myself to have but tha trailer might instill in me all tha same! This is tha tricky thing about adaptations as well because there are precedents that would have to be delivered on or else fans of the original source material may come away feeling cheated or unfulfilled! This(as far as I know)is an original IP(it is to me)so I have no expectations that could be smashed beyond what I see on the cover which as I said is minimalist so even if this does turn out to be a God of War - Evil Resident(or God-forbid Call of Duty)clone then it's not smashing an expectation built up by a promising trailer so I won't feel as cheated as so many feel by adaptations(or promising trailers)in general!

I'll take an educated guess and say you and the other two fellows think I'm being a racist, for calling a person with color a 'negro'.

Make no mistake, I don't particularly take issue with your choice of reference to their race as opposed afro-american or simply black person...it has more to do with your entire phrase as a whole in & of itself comes off as someone enjoying anything a "negro" has to offer as being unacceptable to you! I feel if that wasn't tha case then you would not have seen & mentioned tha race/skin color of the participant in the material you were viewing!

You're overthinking my comment...or even worse took 1 look at the start and decided on that alone just like you've accused me of doing here! What I was essentially relaying is that the "show/don't tell" approach to cover art here has garnered my interest in tha game is all! Trailers can be tricky however and you can't really play a trailer but it CAN be an introduction to character & story but you still have to play it and trailers can be misleading in that regard! Back in my day(no joke)we didn't have trailers to sell games to us...they barely had stories as well!
ALSO
I said this cover EVOKES MEMORIES of those old games! You seem to think I was inferring that it was a verbatim copy of it down to the image of tha main villain in tha sky!

Keir Tanaka 3 months ago

This is some effective-minimalist cover art here! I really wanna play this game now based on tha cover! It evokes memories of ActRaiser & Castlevania but I never played Ico or Shadow of The Colossus but I suppose it will remind those gamers of that as well! I'm also not saying I know this game is gonna be great based on this grand-scale cover but I am willing to delve in based on it though and tha cover is still great no matter what tha game ends up being!

My only argument is on 'austhetics' again. You got a great spirit there, Keir, but you have a very "fight me!" approach to everything and you don't always word things in ways that make your points effective. I don't have much of a problem with any point you've tried to make...Emotion and thought is not visible through the internet, words are...And moreover, that "fight me" attitude... you'd have to pardon me to say this, but I think you're often misguided in it a lot.response to anything is to start a fight, when really...

O-oh right, links!

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtHP6qx8VF7dPql3ll1To4i6vEIPt0kV5

What I actually do is(at least attempt to)match whatever tone I feel the other end is relaying to me is all and it just so happens that most here(more than likely CHOOSE to)see it as a "fight me" approach to reply! You say that I should be trying to end it well what about those that started it...yes those who started cause it wasn't me! Don't think I don't know how utterly childish that sounds on paper/in words but that's what I do! Don't start nuthin...won't be nuthin - God that sounds more aggressive than I intended, well anyways!

You say that words come through but not "tone" on the internet - that never really became true until I got here! I "talk" the EXACT same way here on plenty other websites and so far...haven't really gotten as much hate there as here in fact I'm quite sure if you stacked tha hate I get here next to the total sum of hate I've ever received online before then..this site would likely come close to halving the other hate and I haven't even been here that long! Holy Crap now I sound like I've got some sort of "victim-complex" something like that or other!

You I - I don't want you to think I have anything against you either in any dimension/any shape/form or fashion because you've been the "consistently" best thing about joining this site...well other than all tha FREE PORNO I now have access 2 4 hours & hours, yeah!!

Not to restart the conversation, but Deviant Art was a community orient site from the onset, and was designed to be a social network as much as (if not more than) an image board to merge the genres. To say that they are alike is to belittle the impact of that fusion has on the users who provide for the site its entire content base and dismiss the obvious demand for the existence of the website before such a thing existed.

Deviant Art's creator interviews can be a little droning, but they have interesting bits pertaining to the origin and initial purpose of the website if you can sit through them. Shifting through the evolution of the internet can be quite a journey, if you have the patience for it.

I repeat: It was not a full-on comparison of all the "ins & outs" or "accomplishments" each site brings to tha table; just that deviantART as well as SankakuComplex have been referred to as "porn sites" and explaining why more casual users would be so inclined as to think that way!
