Sankaku Channel/

I'm having trouble understanding how to use the tag male (and possibly its female counterpart).

It says on the wiki not to use the tag to "denote simple male presence", i.e. it should be only used when the picture focus is a male.

That's clearly not how the tag is being used on the channel, as following that logic male and female should never be used on the same picture yet there's like a million posts that do.

Is the wiki wrong? Should male be used in every post that has a male in it and male_focus instead for those pictures that put emphasis on the male subject?

(I'm using male here but the same question applies with female)
