3 months agoWhile writing wiki definitions for handcuffs and manacles I noticed that the cuffs tag is used for three different things: handcuffs, decorative clothing items worn on wrists, and a leather bondage item used for restraint. I'd like to clear up the definition but would like to know what others think first. In my opinion the cuffs tag could be left for the clothing item, leather cuffs could be used for the bondage item, and using the handcuffs tag for handcuffs is pretty obvious.
I would also like to have feedback on whether shackles should be used instead of manacles. I only noticed its existence after writing the manacles definition. Shackles has more uses (4414 for shackles vs. 682 for manacles). And as far as I've been able to determine they're pretty much synonyms.
