If you have a Contributor rank or higher, your posts don't need approval. And I assume the biggest chunk of uploads come from people with high user ranks. Most people also just approve posts they stumble upon, we have no one who enjoys day by day approving everything that comes up (because it can turn into a load of work.. with duplicates and parentless posts. Try [FIND SIMILAR] in the actions bar to enjoy the hell.)

Requesting that houjin_exaxxion and cannon_god_exaxxion should be somehow related. The latter exist but is empty now. Of the 4 posts tagged with the first, 3 have "CANNON GOD EXAXXION" or "EXAXXION THE CANNON GOD" written on the image.

... I don't recognize anything/anyone in that image that is in the Exaxxion manga series, I believe the tag is an error. So without the 4th, there would be a 3 out of 3 = 100% match. (I don't know what "houjin exaxxion" means, it's probably the original title of the manga series, or rather, the romanization(?) of it.)
Thinking about it, and given that my guess about "houjin exaxxion" is true, it would probably work best if cannon_god_exaxxion would imply houjin_exaxxion, but not the other way round. Then mass-edit the tags of the 3 images to cannon_god_exaxxion and it's done.
I've been thinking. There's no point in the tag badassery existing, is there? I think it should be aliased to badass (Which I'm amused to find out can be translated to Portuguese).
Also, since System is rarely around these days, couldn't one of the mods who can approve translations work on approving them?

Alias request--there's no reason to mass-edit, because in the end it'll be easier to simply channel all names into the current name for the same thing.
Also, my thoughts on Badassery is that it should be used to convey actions or situations primarily present in a .gif or .webm, not a base descriptor for badass pictures.

Mithra and Miqo'te are different races in FF so no need to alias.

There was a similar case with aki_(komori-chan_wa_yaruki_wo_dase) and aki_(komori-chan_wa_yaru_ki_wo_dase), but System approved the right one.

In that case, the badassery tag would have to be cleaned up, because it's not used the way you say (also I think it's need a translation or Japanese equivalent). Also, I already submitted an alias, and since System is barely active these days we can't get it deleted. We'd have to be lucky for him not to approve it.

Mithra are the predecessors to the Miqo'te--it's not a different race, the MMO's are implied to be a time-shift between titles.

I wish System would be around more often and also rank up mods and give more abilities to mods, like being able to approve and delete aliases/implications. Actually I think anyone should be able delete their own aliases/implications.

Different games and different names that point to two races with different facial features from each other, which is the main issue. They both have different identities so no aliasing can be done since both tags do not mean or refer to the same thing.

As much as I'd love to have a active, thought-out debate over it, Square Enix has already proven that the game doesn't need to be in rapid succession to be a time-skip between chronological storylines--and the Mithra and Miqo'te share almost every similarity save for those made explicitly different by the diverging bloodlines of the Sun Keepers and the Moon Seekers. More than enough in-game evidence points towards the singular mother race, the Mithra, and more than enough "exclusive" physical features were carried over from the mother race upon creation of FFXIV to layer in hard enough that it's the same world at a very different time.
The race can be named many things across history, but unless the Miqo'te are somehow part Viera--which was not a race in FFXI--then there is no reason to assume that they are not the same as the Mithra, and should be treated as such.

Mithra are the catgirls with ugly,furry noses from FF XI, while the Miqo'te are the cute catgirls from FFIXIV without said noses. They are distinguishable from each other and so shouldn't be lumped together.
Of course, this is just my opinion, and whether the lore will be prioritized over the visual and factual elements, I will leave to the mods or whoever makes the rules.

It's a single feature--the nose--that sets them apart for you. Literally, you've laid your entire logic out by making your issue with the nose clear.
Noses change when a species evolves and adapts; Hyur have the most borderline blocky and annoying noses in general across both genders, which is why most Hyur created are either prettified or female. A single aesthetic detail does not and cannot dictate an entire species, regardless of how apparent it is unless it can be proven... Which has been proven against.

The reason they're on this site is because the terms are subjective--there are plenty of subjective descriptor tags, such as about_to_be_raped which will depend on point-of-view and interpretation of the situation depicted.
There are pictures that will warrant the tag badass because the character or situation being shown does indeed match the mass-viewer depiction of the state of being a "badass". Badassery would apply exclusively to the action or actions portrayed, such as a .webm or .gif of an action anime battle scene or (as it has become a trend recently) adult scenes that impress for more than just the people in them "bumping uglies".
The depiction itself is subject to the tag, and as such the tag has been used and likely will continue to be used as it's usage on the site is something semi-concrete.

Because that furry nose is the most obvious issue, and not to mention the biggest because it is a visual one and thus automatically sets Mithra and Mi'qote apart. Considering we tag based on what we see in an image, this is important.
I am already over my usual 1 comment a month limit, and seeing as you are being extremely defensive of the FF lore, we will probably be going around in circles for God knows how long, this will be my last.
The Mithra from FF XI with furry nose is referred to just Mithra.
The evolved Mithra, using your terminology and lore, from FF XIV without a furry nose is called Mi'qote.
So no matter what the lore says, it cannot overcome the fact that they come from different games, are visually different from each other, and have their own names that refer to two different "versions" of the Mithra.
Mind you I am not trying to be an ass. Just following the rules.

Sometimes, two tags can mean EXACTLY the same thing. For example, pantsu and panties have identical meanings. It makes sense that if you search for one, you should also get the results for the other.

However, about_to_be_raped already has a very easy to follow definition/description which makes it easier to determine if an image deserves this tag.
Looking at some of the images tagged badass, a lot of them are just regular animated gifs of a random action scene or pose.
Unless theres is a clear guideline on the usage of badass, like what the "mass-viewers' depiction" is, there is really no way for people to determine what accounts as badass. Either put a guideline on the tag's page or expect people to abuse the hell out this tag.

Regarding the FF MMOs races, I agree with Rinfinite. They should be kept separate.
For badass/badassery we’d need concrete definitions to decide whether they’re relevant tags or not.
