I've been seeing porn ads depicting real people and such since I got here. That's normal here and I can take that without complaint. But those were just small images and still frames. The videos didn't start showing up until recently; there's no way they've been here for months, they popped up less than two weeks ago I believe. It must be an issue on my end if you guys really aren't getting ads in the form of internet porn videos... Interestingly, I think they DID stop appearing for a couple or so days, not a single one showed up. But yesterday they just suddenly appeared again which is why I came to report them at all. And I'm not sure if it means anything but the first time this happened it was just the same video that got advertised. Then I got a break for a few days. Then they showed up again, with two new ads; one of which has a Mikuru cosplayer.

Uh... maybe I should figure out how to take screen shots. It might help if you can see what I'm talking about... but that's the last I'll say for now. And I sincerely apologize if this is an annoyance, I know there are more important things to take care of on a site... but just looking through favorites has become a pain thanks to these and this site has a wider selection of images than the others I use so it would be nice to keep coming here.

david223, the opinions of an adblocking user who has never contributed anything to the site are not of much interest in this context. Paid accounts obviously imply getting a great deal of other enticing functionality besides that, and users who are less crass than yourself may feel some incentive to support the site if they wish to see it thrive.

LongShadows, there have been video ads for some time, although if you weren't simply drastically exaggerating when you said "90%" that sounds unusual.

Amazingly, the ads are there to generate the funds the site needs to survive and not just to provide a pretty background for you to ignore, so it seems rather petty to complain about a service otherwise consumed entirely for free. Feel free to get in touch if you have any better ideas.

I see what you mean now. I think I had never noticed them because they take a while to load for me, and unless I’m actively searching for them, they won’t even appear.

If they’re really that annoying for you, you have 3 options.

1. Deal with it. They might go away with time.
2. Pay the site in place of the ads so that you can have them removed (the premium membership thing System was talking about, that I guess will happen eventually).
3. Use ad-blocking software and worsen the financial situation of the site, dooming it to eventual death. (By the way, last I checked, Danbooru had even worse ads.)

First of all, I do not want to mooch off the site. I was using it just fine until these particular videos started cropping up; I avoid sites with these (Like Gelbooru). Most of the ads are just fine, perfectly tolerable especially since I do like the site. Second... what are you talking about? I never even see any ads lining Danbooru's pages at all... let alone worse ones (surely you meant Gelbooru?). Are we seeing the same ads? Do I have some kind of ad block in place that only works for Danbooru that I'm not even aware of despite using Dan for over a year? Now I'm more confused... screw it. I'll train myself to avoid those videos or something (Edit: Not possible, they're everywhere)... or just hope they go away as suddenly as they appeared.

I don't want to cause trouble or mooch, I just want to browse favorites and edit tags without seeing those things.

I think it is almost impossible to find a real distinct name, so I think archway_of_venus if quite fitting. If you want to cultivate the tag, feel free to do so. But don't forget to add a wikipage for it, otherwise it will confuse people who see it for the first time.

Might be worth Googling for vocabulary in case it has a name in English or Japanese already. A wiki page and an initial population should get you started...

Actually, I've been searching for a while, not as hard as I could, but I did and I didn't find anything that imply exactly these things.
