I guess Webms and gifs of the exact same scene (length included) shouldn't coexist, but I think it's alright if they otherwise show parts of the same scene.

I agree. That's also what I originally said.

any .gif that has a .webm version

^I see, I didn't quite understand. xD

Changing subject, I forgot to mention it before (I forgot it all in all), but I made png_conversion into a meta tag, since, for obvious reasons, it doesn't apply to the parents of most posts tagged as such, and meta tags aren't moved to parents upon deletion.

I guess there must be a lot of .png posts tagged as png_conversion, though.

Edit: Question: Should we delete Post #3576080 and leave only Post #3563561?

I had not deleted the first one, because they are not exact duplicates. But I do not really care.

But they're inherently of poorer quality. If they're both showing the same thing, the .webm will be superior.

You’re comparing cats with dogs. Gifs are images, webms are videos. They can co-exist. We’ve been over overly-sized gifs before, and System is for keeping them on the site.

The colors are different, so it counts as a legitimate_variation.

I just found Post #4263808 and Post #4149157.

The former’s colors are more natural therefore I’d consider it of higher quality regardless of resolution. Whichever way, it as well counts as a legitimate variation for the same reason the other one does.

What has Post #295666 been doing for 6 years? lol

I forgot to point that out when I did that (I kept forgetting every time I remembered), but I made png_conversion into a meta tag. I guess the reason is obvious.

Also, all valkyrie_drive character sheets in the site are png conversions, so I'm posting the original images and deleting the ones in the site.

https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/user/show/30788 Seems to have a habit of changing English notes to Spanish. I think a mod should tell him to cut it out.

^Thanks for the report, sent him a message.

Please, delete all my uploaded images. My upload limit is over.

We don’t delete posts for no reason here. When your posts will get approved you’ll be able to upload more. You need to learn how to tag images better if you want them approved quicker, though. You can check how I’ve tagged Post #4858029 for some help.

I agree. In addition, I think any .gif that has a .webm version should be deleted as they are both lower in quality and higher in size.

Just to clarify, if i re-record a scene from the original video in .webm (that was already posted here as a .gif) and upload it, i can flag the already posted .gif with an appropriate reason?

Only if the gif is heavy and, y'know, pretty much the same as the webm.

Got it. Thank you.

Post #4852055 <-I know they're pretty much the same, but given my gif came first, should it really be deleted?

Being posted first doesn't matter. Low quality Twitter images are posted all the time only to be deleted later when a Pixiv version shows up.

Your gif has bad colors and is heavily artifacted. Despite that it manages to have a higher filesize. So yes, it should be deleted.

I didn't notice it has larger filesize. I didn't even make it, I just posted it here.
Ok then. xD

Maybe somebody already asked this, but im too lazy to search it:
There is absolutely similiar images, for example
https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/post/show/4890584
https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/post/show/4890391
The only difference is size and source.
Which image i should flag?
The one with bigger filesize? Or the one what posted earlier?
And yeah, i know
>To make things easier for moderation staff please tag the duplicate post as a child of the higher quality post.

Make the one from pixiv the parent and delete the one from Twitter. That's how it works here.

Get it. Thanks.

Posted same image after me, mark mine as duplicated: https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/post_tag_history/index?post_id=4892254

It was hard to tell unless you looked closely, but the image posted after yours did have a lot of jpg artifacts. That is why it was deleted, not because it was posted after yours.

So you post the exact same image already posted by me and mark mine as duplicated? Let's see what the moderators says about this.

Again, just because you posted first doesn't make yours higher quality and therefore qualified to stay. In the future please come to this thread first or message one of us directly before getting hostile in the comments.

Sorry if I stayed hostile. I'm very aware of how the quality of the image is the most important thing before it stays here, but also when two of them are the same so we leave the first one, or am I wrong?
Also, all of you are probably very aware how the guy constantly does very small changes to pics over here, changing the file format or resizing them, just so they can't be marked as duplicates, and a lot of times without leaving they related to the original or without including the source.

https://chan.sankakucomplex.com/post/show/4668074

I've done this extra service myself several times already, and this when he does not remove the relations shortly after. Again, sorry but I'm getting tired of this shit.

When i find visually exact duplicates, i don't look at the upload time. I mostly just compare the tag count and if a source is included or not. If all those are the same, i just look at which file is the smallest file size. And flag the file with the biggest file size. If those are also the same, then I'll look at upload date.

Though i have yet to encounter such a situation.

I personally don't think it should be here, but I don't think there's a rule that says it can't.

Well we have loli and toddlercon, but those arn't usually drawn with much detail. This however, has too much detail and resembles a real minor. It feels wrong looking at it.

I agree. And I'd love to get rid of it, but I've been corrected about getting rid of gross and offensive content before, so I'm just going to leave it for now.
