There are a lot of things I don't agree with that are allowed on this site, but as long as they don't appear to be drawn by a middle schooler I can't touch them.

For some reason I have been blocked and can't access Sankaku Complex. That's the case only on my computer, though.

I can see same error page accessing the url too. This error page is generated by CloudFlare that is serving reverse proxy. It seems to be regarded as malicious access for too many parameters.

It was only flagged, but I've gone ahead and deleted it along with the exact same image you've uploaded. If you're going to post a screencap please make sure it is the highest possible resolution and remove the subtitles.

And stretching the original picture doesn't make it better, only worse.

One thing that bothers me is that some users (bots?), like shuutan and reichan, don't source their uploads properly, which I assume is because they repost them from sites which don't source their posts, like zerochan and shuushuu. Is there anything that can be done about that?

Also, I don't know if I should bring this up here on in Suggestions.

I believe you. I went ahead and deleted the other low quality screencaps as they are not allowed. Please feel free to upload ones taken at a proper resolution and without subtitles. Also keep in mind that stretching the image does not improve quality.

I agree. Since they're just cropped versions of the actual image they might as well be treated as duplicates. Tag and flag them as you find them, and we'll clean up.

There's a tag called legitimate_variation that covers valid altered images which, yes, includes tinted versions.
From its wiki page:

"legitimate variation »
A note for people to not tag this post as a duplicate again.

Tinted, rotated, high quality upscales, cropped ... [etc.] ... are considered a legitimate variation."

I think the cropped part could be cut from the wiki description.

I agree. In addition, I think any .gif that has a .webm version should be deleted as they are both lower in quality and higher in size.

I agree about cropped images, but not quite about gifs.
I think only really heavy gifs should be deleted. There are some which are rather heavy but still work properly.

Changing subject, I really think it should be possible to edit comments.

But they're inherently of poorer quality. If they're both showing the same thing, the .webm will be superior.

That may sound weird but, .gif is a moving picture, while .webm is a video. And I think that may a reason while people still want .gif.

Personally, I hate .gif :O)

But in a browser, especially on this site, they're functionally the same.

I guess Webms and gifs of the exact same scene (length included) shouldn't coexist, but I think it's alright if they otherwise show parts of the same scene.
