Also @system, when you add pixivlinks to the profile of (new) artist, you tend to take the direct URL to the picture instead of the profile page. Can you fix this somehow?
I think this goes for deviantart, too. I would rather have a gallery link instant of the directlink to the picture.
I think I’ve often made artist tags “pixivname_(URLname)” if the Pixiv name alone is ambiguous. On another note, I saw you tagging Post #3599226 as masturbation, which is wrong. That’s a tekoki, girl on boy, masturbation is a solo act.
Thanks for correcting it, handjob (tekoki) didn't came to my mind somehow :[.
I don't know what those extra names evident in the Pixiv URLs are.
"furball_(faabooru)" is weak as it is two variants of the same word. "furball" is obviously generic and cannot go to an artist. We are avoiding use of Pixiv IDs, "_(artist)" and "_(pixiv)"... so your options are a bit constrained. A legitimate alias or circle name if it can be found, or _(artist) as a last resort, seems reasonable.
Pixiv links to artist profiles are done by normal users, not System, are they not? Unless you mean the source link on post/show pages (please be specific), which is reconstructed if possible from a raw link.
Only certain sites have certain types of link from which it is possible to reconstruct links back to a profile or post page.

As example, but I don't know who added this. The 'correct' link would lead obviously to the profile page. I always thought you are adding these, just because of being the masterrobot here. But I could be wrong of course, also no offense.
I knew it would be a weak artist tag, but before the artist was under the name of "sutorenngusu" and it doesn't seem right to me.

So, shall I change the arist just to "faabooru" then? Because aside from all the other informations you gave, I do not really know what to do now, leaving it as a tag abomination, or changing it.
Ok, so I just tested it.
As I thought, URL nickname is the original artist’s name. You can change your Pixiv nickname, but the URL one will always stay as your original name. So going “pixivname_(URLname)” sounds safe to me.
Seems solid, if System approves, I'll change it.

He indirectly approved it when he decided that “name_(alias)” was acceptable usage, so I think you should change it.
Already done!
The URL nickname is actually the artist's login in pixiv. (It doesn't reallt mean that the artist wants to be known by itd pixiv URL). If the artist has multiple aliases, sounds better in using its most preferred/used nickname or its pixiv URL.

2 years agoQuestion about naming new artists.
Artist: http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=8845876
This guy is called ファーボール, which translates to faabooru (furball). But the direct URL for his works is:
http://i2.pixiv.net/img134/img/sutorenngusu/ -> sutorenngusu
And here is my conflict/question. What's the system here? Taking the URL names? Taking the profile names?
(Can you freely change your profile name on pixiv? I don't know that.)
Would be great to know how to do it right, because I have no real idea. And if everyone does it randomly it will result in many shitty/different artist tags.
PS: Artist is transitional furball_(faabooru)
